Burton Place in the Near North Side neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

The district, which incorporates twelve primary houses and five carriage homes, was developed in the late nineteenth century but renovated into an artists’ colony in the Nineteen Twenties and Nineteen Thirties. Artist Edgar Miller and businessman Sol Kogen started the district’s redevelopment by redesigning and opening Carl Street Studios in 1927; at the time, Burton Place was known as Carl Street.

Bwlch Trewyn was transferred to Monmouthshire, whereas the opposite, Ffwddog , was not. The 1535 Laws in Wales Act had the impact of abolishing the marcher lordships inside and on the borders of Wales. In the border areas, a number of were included in whole or in part into English counties. The lordships of Ludlow, Clun, Caus and a part of Montgomery have been incorporated into Shropshire; and Wigmore, Huntington, Clifford and most of Ewyas were included in Herefordshire. Between 1536 and 1974 the formulation “Wales and Monmouthshire” was incessantly used.
